Election Committees - Instructions for returning the ballot
This week, ballot papers for the Election of the Committees arrived at the voters' registered addresses in the various consular constituencies. The voting process is practically the same as in previous elections. See the step by step below:
1. Contents of the envelope
Inside the envelope received from the Consulate or Embassy, you will find the electoral card, your electoral certificate (document with your name), an instruction sheet, a copy of the Comites legislation, a smaller all-white envelope, and a pre-paid envelope with the address of the Consulate/Embassy already filled in.
2. Ballot - how to vote
Open the ballot and identify the list you want to vote on. In Singapore there are only two. The list we support, Italiani in Singapore, is the list on the left that contains 15 candidates.
USING A BLACK OR BLUE PEN, MARK WITH AN X OR A CROSS (+) THE LIST YOU WISH TO VOTE FOR. THEN, DRAW THE SYMBOL WITHIN THE TOP SQUARE NEXT TO THE LIST LOGO.
IDENTIFY THE CANDIDATE(S) YOU WISH TO VOTE FOR AND MARK HIM WITH AN X OR A CROSS (+). MAKE THE SYMBOL INSIDE THE RECTANGLE CONTAINING YOUR CANDIDATE'S NAME.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU CAN CHOOSE UP TO 4 CANDIDATES FROM THE SAME LIST. VOTING IS NOT ALLOWED FOR CANDIDATES FROM DIFFERENT LISTS. IF YOU DO, YOUR VOTE WILL BE VOID.
ATTENTION: ON THE FRONT OF THE BALLOT THERE IS A SPACE FOR THE SIGNATURE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ELECTORAL SESSION. IT IS NOT FOR YOU, THE VOTER, TO SIGN ON THE LINE.
After marking the vote:
Close the ballot and place it inside the smaller white envelope.
Seal the smaller white envelope.
Remember, only the ballot goes inside the white envelope.
3. Electoral Certificate - what to do
The Electoral Certificate has a central line with a scissors symbol below the box with instructions, called TAGLIANDO ELETTORALE. Cut at the line and place it inside the return envelope (the envelope that contains the address already filled in).
4. Envelope with the ballot
Place the envelope with the ballot inside the return envelope too. The same one you put your TAGLIANDO ELETTORALE on step #3. Close the middle envelope.
5. Post the envelope to the nearest post office box.
Please prefer mailboxes installed in post offices to avoid the risk of delaying receipt of the card at the Consulate/Embassy. THE ENVELOPE WITH YOUR VOTE MUST REACH THE EMBASSY/CONSULATE BY DECEMBER 3. Mailboxes located at streets work but may have a slower collection than those installed in branches.
ATTENTION: YOU MUST NOT WRITE ANY SENDER ON THE ENVELOPE OR REPLACE THE ENVELOPE WITH ANY OTHER THAN THE ONE RECEIVED FROM THE CONSULATE.
See below for the original file with voting instructions. IF YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR BALLOT BY NOVEMBER 19, PLEASE WRITE IMMEDIATELY TO YOUR CONSULATE/EMBASSY REQUESTING THE SECOND COPY OF THE BILL.
