The Italian Government recently implemented the INAD, National Index of Digital Domiciles. It is a national platform for registering PEC email addresses, allowing the Public Administration to locate and send official communications to individuals with a Codice Fiscale. This catalog enables individuals to be reached via email without needing physical mail, reducing postage expenses for the government and ensuring citizens receive communications almost immediately.

Interested individuals must first possess a PEC email address from a service provider. Subsequently, they can access the website domiciliodigitale.gov.it to register their address with the NDID. Registration in the NDID also requires access through SPID or CIE (Electronic Identity Card).

Step-by-step to registering in the NDID:

1. Ensure you have a PEC email address and SPID or CIE.

2. Access domiciliodigitale.gov.it and click on "Attiva il tuo Domicilio."

3. Log in using SPID or CIE.

4. Select your profile (citizen, professional, or entity).

5. Register your PEC email address.

6. Confirm the registration.
